Dr. Andy Broeren is research engineer at NASA Glenn Research Center’s Icing Branch. He received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and has over 15 years’ experience in low-speed, experimental aerodynamics and wind-tunnel testing. He has conducted numerous research programs investigating in-flight icing effects on airfoil/wing aerodynamics including ice-protected and unprotected surfaces. This work is described in over 40 journal articles, conference papers and reports. Dr. Broeren is a member of the SAE AC-9C Icing Technology Committee. He is an associate fellow of AIAA and is a past-chair of the Atmospheric and Space Environments Technical Committee.
