David Parkins

Mr. David Parkins is an FAA Designated Engineering Representative with Mechanical Systems Delegation specific to icing for 14 CFR Parts 23, 25, 27, 29 and 35. He is the author of LewInt, a graphical interface for LEWICE vs. 3.2.2, distributed and supported through American Kestrel Corporation, LLC. Prior to his work as a DER Mr. Parkins worked in the development of low powered ice protection systems and ice detectors. Mr. Parkins is a past chairman of SAE AC-9C Icing Technology Committee and an active participant in various SAE and EUROCAE standards panels. In addition he is a Licensed Engineer in New York State and private pilot with an instrument rating. Mr. Parkins has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester and an M.Eng. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University.
